6th Nalanda Singing Competition (Day 1)

6th Inter-Dhamma School Hymm Singing Competition. (Day 1)

PS: This is going to be one very very long post. XP

This is my 3rd time going to this competition. The first year that my school went, we won 2nd place. Then, the second year we didnt really win anything. Final, this year is our last year joining this competition.. what did we won? Read on.. XP

At the first two years of this competition, I was part of the singer but this year, i play a different role. Is either i naik pangkat or turun pangkat and become and musician for the team. XD Yes, be very surprise that i was the guitarist for my school's team. XP That means, i get to jam with Suilun! 8D

One of the new thing abt this competition is that, this year the competition is split into two different days. One day for juniors (children) and another day for seniors (teenagers). I have to be the musician for both category. Therefore i have to go for the both competition days..

Before the competition, I was facing some problem with my guitar. No, i didnt break any strings. My guitar have no plug-ins at all! Therefore, hearing my guitar would difficult for people to hear the sound of my guitar. But still, thanks to Dex's guitar and Desmond's Amp, the problem was solved. XP (thanks guys.)

Everything is read.. Alright.. LETS ROCK!! XD

Lets skip all the musshy musshy road trip from my temple to that Shah Alam temple.. Lets just get straight to the whole story. XP To make this post not sooooo book-ish, i shall let most of the pictures do the talking. XP

Day 1 - The BISDS Junior Team

Last year's competition winner soloist!! (one day, my picture is gonna be there!)

Oh yes, i forgot to mention that each category have another minor category. Junior team have solo and group singing. Same goes for the seniors as well. XP

Yan Leng was pretty excited about the competition. XP

The first thing that we did when we reach there.. is to check all the systems. Mic testing, Amp testing, voice testing, piano testing.. basicly TESTING everything! XD

Suilun was the pianist for both junior category.

And I was the guitarist for the junior's group category.

After dinner, its time for the competition to begin.. Our cheerleader squads are ready to cheer for us. Suilun's fingers are read to play and my guitar is ready to rock!!

Placing, Solo 5th and Group 8th. Yeap, its a pretty long kiew. Of course, while waiting, we took some pictures of how cool we all looked. XP

We are all cheering for her at the bottom of the stage. Yeap, HUGE CROWD! XP

After the Junior solo category.. Its Junior group category time!! More waiting.. of course, more pictures.. XP

I can feel that the performance was great.. really.. I feel goosebumps while performing. XP I can feel the aura that everyone enjoyed our performance..

Once all the performance from all the students.. we have to wait for the judge to decide whose the winner. At the mean time.. We have Igems performing on the stage. (YAY!! One of my favourite buddhist singing group!!)

After the awesome performance by Igems, its time for the results..

Lets keep all the tension and go straight to the results..

Sadly our Junior soloist didnt win anything.. but..

The junior group team won second place!! 8D

It was great that our junior team won something..

But still it still too early to be happy.. We still have a even difficult and challenging competition tomorrow.. We are not facing kids anymore.. we are facing teenagers which can be very creative and very very interesting.. The judges are not as easy going like the one for juniors as well.. Tension rise high..

I was still nervous even after the result is out.. why? Cause im play SOLO for tomorrow senior's solo. Well of course playing it strumming wouldnt be a problem but this time I have to pluck for the WHOLE SONG!! D8 Thats something that i really didnt try before!! One small mistake will cost a whole lot of points. I was facing pressure..

Of course, after competition and winning something.. theres definately celebration.. XP Me, Zhen Whei, Qi Wei, YeangWei, Victor, Justin and Sze Hao went to McD and celebrate.

Zhen Whei, Victor and Justin wanted to eat something spicy but too bad they have to keep their voice for the next day. Therefore, they cant eat. XP They have to look at the other few of our facing eating all the awesome spicy food. XD

Then Justin fetch me and Victor back to his place. Yes, Im sleep over at his place. XP Then, we decided to have a little prank on YanLeng. XP we bluff her that Justin lost his voice due to eating double spicy chicken McDeluxe. XD

Finally.. all of us got tired.. So we head to bed..

Next day was our big day..

Misery Business Cover ft. Nicole

Yeap, another youtube video cover.. I was played and made by me but this time.. its not sang by me. XP Everyone, meet Nicole..

Nicole is a college friend of mine. I know her through Alex. (I know both at the same time. XP) We sorta joined music club together.. That time i heard her sang, and she has a pretty amazing voice. Coincidencely, both of us stopped music club for sort of the same reason. XP

I heard that she was pretty big fan of Paramore, at the same time.. I was decided to make a paramore cover and so i think shes the prefect one to be the singer. I facebook-ed her walah!! She agreed to sing that song for me.

We meet up on friday and spend 4 hours on this one particular song. (no kidding) We did do other song covers but our main focus is this song because we both like this song as well. XP

Believe it or not.. we made almost 15+ video covers of this particular song!! And among all the 15 videos.. this is the best one that we can get. Sure it has some mistake.. but this is really a difficult song for both of us. (Reminder.. Paramore~ Haley Williams~ XD)

3rd Sem Episode 2

Im making another day/episode is because today is a good day as well! Im not gonna make any more episode!! (unless there is another good day to make one la..XD)

Thursday.. its the second day back to college. Pretty much another interesting day since i get to know my other 3 subject's lecturer. XP

First subject is Statistics. I got this lecturer called Ms. See. (Yes, i know.. SEE) XD Well, she gave me and Daniel and pretty awkward first impression.. Both of us can feel that shes not the fun kind of lecturer.. but its still too early for us to judge her. XP Oh, did i mention? Max, Ivan, Nick, Faris, Daniel, Alex, Ainaa, Sin Yein and Wai Meng are in my class. Pretty crowded class eh? XP

She gave just a very very quick introduction about statistics. I said quick as in really really QUICK!! We end the class like in 32mins. XD Nick and Faris came class late.. around 25mins late.. so they just joined the class for 7mins. XD

Have a long 2 and a half hour break.. Stay at the book sale booth and start playing Persona 3 with my PSP. (what can i do.. i was lonely and bored mah.. XD) Persona 3 is a real pain in the ass.. farking hard to play!!

Then after my long break.. its time for my IT subject classes! 8D I have 2 IT subjects this semester. Visual Basics and C-Programming. VB with Dex and CP with Vicky. At least i know i will have friends there. (unlike Internet principles.)

I just knew that both of my IT subjects are back to back.. same class.. even same lecturer! (its not just for that day that class.. its on every class we have!!) D8 I have a bad feeling about the classes im gonna have.. When the class begins, things turned even more un-interesting.. I never knew that both of that subject look/sound/seem soo difficult! Now im really scared.. D8

The first thing that I said after my classes was.. Im screwed! DX

After classes.. its of course the time to lepak.. Lepak-ed the corridoor with Justin, Cheryl and Fiona. Then we start calling Fiona our little 'FiFi' for noooooo apparent reasons. XD

Then, i spotted ZhenPei running across the corridoor.. mainly is because she is late to class.. XD So i raced with her all the way to her class.. which was pretty funny at the same time. XD (my fast walk is equal to her run. XD)

Very quickly I spotted Corliss and Agnes at the corridoor and they asked me to sit down and talked to them. Not long after that Agnes left and leaving me and Corliss having a long long talk with each other. Then, we head to the admin office to settle her new time table..

Once Corliss left, coincidencely I spotted Winnie around the corridoor as well. Sitting alone reading her little book. So i decided to sit down and teman her for a little while..

Soon, we then saw ZhenPei walking back to the front gate after her class. Funnily we made fun of her here and there. (dont really remember fully what the joke was..) It seems that shes interested in my dad's carrot cake as well. XD Well mayb next time la ZhenPei. X)

Continue talking to Winnie until we didnt even see the time coming.. Time flies right to 6pm and I was asked to go home..

I dunno about you guys.. but it seems like an interesting day to me.. XP

3rd Sem Episode 1

Episode 1?? does that mean im going to make like a series for my 3rd semester? Nah.. you all wish la! XD

Episode 1 = Day 1

Its just a little something to make things sounds more interesting.. XP

After all the holidays.. Its finally time to head back to college..

To be honest.. Im pretty excited.. Altough I have to stay for another semester in HELP but really.. im pretty excited and im pretty pumped up to study! XD (this only last for a week only..)

Wednesday.. And guess what? I have the exact same time class like i had for my 2nd semester! My class starts at 2pm! (again!!!) Well its not a bad thing.. I have social meeting at 12.30pm so yeah~

I reach campus around 10am today. Walk around the corridoor to find some of my friends who I have not been seeing for 2 weeks. (well most of them la.. XP) Met with Max and Ivan around the corridoor and found Ivan with his new 'toy'. The Ipad. XP

After that both of them have to head to class early. Surprise? its very normal.. they both wanna make a good first impression to their new lecturer. XD So, I hang around teman-ing ZhenPei, HuiJin, WanJia, Li Huey and Evelyn. Talk and Laughed.

Time flew and its time for social sphere meeting.. Not gonna expose anything!! Its private and confidential!! XD But have fun discussing about stuffs and there are new members too! Weeeee~ 8D

When the meeting ended.. We all head to our own respective classes.

My first/one and only class of the day is Business Principles. From what I've heard from Max and Ivan who took it last semester, they said that Business is damm nice but you need to have the interest in learning it.

My business class is a pretty big crowd of class.. whats really interesting is most of my friends are all in the same class. Around 45% of the people in the class are people that i know.. XP Nick, Faris, KahYee, Steffanie, Jason, Daniel, ZhenPei, Li Huey, John Khor, Haley and a few more.. all of them are in my class. Pretty screwed up eh? XD

Business class was pretty interesting.. the lecture gave me a pretty good first impression. ZhenPei and I are interest in his accent.. XD

We had a little bit of ice breaking activity for our first class.. Its was really interesting.. thanks to that ice breaking activity, we now know each other's ability, strength and weaknesses which was part of the objective of the activity.

Class ended pretty late for a first day of class.. but who cares!! After class its time to lepak!! XD Head to Ali Maju and makan with Nick, Max and Daniel. Then, thanks to Daniel I save time, 2 bucks and had a good ride home. XP

Daniel's father talked to me about my future job which probably, computer games/games development. He seems pretty experience in such kind of thing.. so i took a few tips from him. XP Great help uncle.. Great Help. X)
